Started off today with a story telling session by a 60 year old volunteer from a buddhist charitable organisation (佛光山云水书坊). They drove a mobile library to the 玉湖-北门国小分校, to provide the students here with the opportunity to read a storybook as the school does not have a library. They also brought with them many gifts donated by many people and the children were thrilled.
To be volunteering at 60 years old is really something admirable... I can tell that she is very passionate about what she is doing from her animated expressions during the storytelling session and through conversing with her after that. I hope I would be able to volunteer in future at that age too, making contributions to the society even after retirement.
There's a wide variety of books to choose from, from comics to novels to science fiction |

I was observing the students at the side while they were reading and many of them were so engrossed... I am so blessed to have a library in school and to have many community libraries that are just 10-15 minutes walk away from home.
After which I went to the Primary 5's English class and conducted a charades game. I made use of words that were from their text and made them compete with each other so as to make it more interactive for them. I am glad that they enjoyed it. Then, it was lunch time! The chef prepares lunch for them everyday and the upper primary will help to distribute the food to the rest of the students. Every Monday's meal would be vegetarian but I find it really nutritious.

to help themselves with a second serving if they wish to.
