Wednesdays!

Wednesday is a day I love the most because it means we are halfway through the week. Every Wednesday, my schedule would be the most packed as I get to play badminton with the teachers after school. I was really lucky yesterday as my host was going dong shan for a meeting and he asked if I wanted to come along as there are some nice places to see around there. So I agreed and up we went to dong shan.

We stopped by this road and on the left there is a huge pond of lotus flower. They even have a lotus flower appreciation festival during June to August which is the season of blooming of lotus flowers.

The plant starts growing big leaves which we call lotus pads, then they start to flower. After which, the flower petals wither off and the plant starts to bear fruit, which is the thick conical like thing with many holes on it.

There is a big rice field behind the lotus flower pond too.

After that we headed to a coffee house up in the mountains. You can enjoy your cup of coffee and enjoy the serenity of the area. This cafe is owned by a Taiwanese from Taipei, who gave up his bustling life in Taipei City and moved over to Tainan with his family.

longan trees at the entrance of the cafe.

This longan tea taste really nice and is not too sweet.
Enjoying my cup of iced latte with Swiss roll which costs NT$150
This huge yet harmless spider up on the ceiling caught my
attention while I was walking around taking photos

After that our high tea, we went back to school to join the teachers for Badminton. I think I have developed a great interest for this sport ever since I have joined the teachers every Wednesday.
