Music appreciation

台南市爱乐视障合唱团, a choir which consists of the visually disabled, came to our school to performed a few songs for us a few days back. Some of them were blind since birth and some are proud mothers who only loss their vision at a later age due to bacteria infection or genetic reasons. Their determination and optimism towards life is truly inspirational. Despite being visually handicapped, their passion for music didn't stop them from performing and bringing joy to the audience. Their melodious voices and high spirit touched my heart.

The first song which they performed-大海啊故乡, was a song I performed while I was in choir in primary school. There was this sudden moment of nostalgia when I heard them sang this song because I was reminded of those days when I would get so excited for choir practices every week. They also performed a few groovy pieces and students were invited on stage to dance together with them. You could feel their stage presence while they groove to the music and they didn't care if anyone was looking at them.

He can sing at a very high pitch and play several instruments.

Later that night, I went to watch a classical concert with some opera elements in it. It was a performance put up by students from Tainan National University of the Arts and my teacher's daughter was performing too. So we had free tickets. They played Carmen, La Boheme, La Forza del Destino, Les Contes d' Hoffmann and Tosca. The female and male sopranos can all sing and act very well. Of course, the orchestra coordinated with them very well too. It was tight and clean and I enjoyed myself very much.

On a side note I had been eating this very awesome fried chicken for two days consecutively because it's simply irresistible!Long queues especially after school.
